Dara Frydman is a Toronto born-and-bred George Brown College graduate of the Fashion Techniques and Design Program.  Creating “something from nothing” from a young age was not uncommon for her, and so fashion and jewellery design was not a far-fetched career path. 

The process of creating something all her own fills her with a sense of accomplishment and integrity, and has proven a most amenable vehicle for translating inner vision to outer reality.

Though she typically works quite deliberately, consciously employing both traditional and innovative techniques, her unconscious tends to leave her with the most avante-garde designs.

Dara’s transition from fashion design to jewellery design proved to be a smooth one, as she incorporated the two art forms and a multitude of materials to create out of the ordinary jewellery, accessories and papercraft. She strives to create wearable and unique art, and the dara. label represents just that. The dara. style is a balanced mix of vintage and modern, intermingled to create what can best be descibed as eclectic.
